COOPERSTOWN

The Village Board this afternoon gave its support to Cooperstown Field Days, planned Oct. 10 – the Saturday of Columbus Day Weekend – along Main Street.

This is the second annual event, and is being broken into a family-friendly segment, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., between Chestnut Street and the flagpole.   There will be games and displays, and the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market is being asked to participate.

From 4 to 8 p.m., Cooperstown On Tap, sponsored by Brewery Ommegang and featuring a stage, will get underway between the flagpole and Fair Street.  Participants will be encouraged to dine in the local restaurants and stop in at local stores.

Ommegang is making the Field Days its signature fall community event, replacing Waffles & Puppets, Matt Hazzard, Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce executive director, told the trustees.
