Veterinarian Hospitalized

After Milford Plane Crash

A pilot, Edward C. Schoene, 35, Springfield Center, a veterinarian with Cherry Valley Veterinary Associates, was taken to Bassett Hospital after the small plane he was flying experienced engine trouble a few minutes after departing Oneonta Municipal Airport and crashed near South Martindale Road, to the west of the Village of Milford, at 8:06 p.m. Monday.  The crumpled chassis remained in a cornfield through Tuesday. The pilot was transported to Bassett by Milford Fire Department/EMS.  County fire coordinators also responded.  The FAA has been contacted and will also be investigating this accident.  (Cheryl Clough/allotsego.com)
