COOPERSTOWN – The Village Board plans to repave eight streets, a recent record, during the fiscal year that begins June 1, according to the proposed budget submitted to the Village Clerk’s Office by the end of business today.

The streets are: Church, Beaver from Delaware to Chestnut, Delaware from Elm to Beaver, Main east of the Susquehanna, and parts of River, according to Mayor Jeff Katz.

Also, Pine Boulevard, Hoffman Lane and Linden Avenue (stone and oil.)

The mayor said the tax rate will remain the same under the new budget, and significant amounts have been dedicated to rewiring 22 Main, part of an ambitious renovation plan for the Village Hall.  Also, part of the wooden village docks at Lakefront Park will be replaced with aluminum ones.

Because the budget was submitted at closing time, the full document wasn’t immediately available.
