Work Starts On Lower Wilber Park Pedestrian Bridge

ONEONTA – The Lower Wilber Park Pedestrian Bridge will close Friday as Eastman Associates begins a replacement project.

Crews will haul the old abutments up the park road (Albert Morris Drive) and past the bathhouse to an area near the large drainage structure outlet where it will be placed for bank stabilization.  The major bridge replacement work is expected to continue through this winter with restoration being completed in early spring 2015, City Clerk Doug Kendall announced today.

During this time, pedestrians are asked to use alternate routes along Center Street or upper Joseph Lunn Drive to access the east side of the Park and to use caution when passing the
construction areas.

Anyone with questions can call the City Engineering Department at 607-432-6465.
