Strang Position Stays In CCS’s 2015-16 Budget

CCS Superintendent of Schools C.J. Hebert answers Common Core foe Kim Jastremski's questions after reporting the CCS board has decided to keep funding for Executive Principal Lynn Strang's position in the proposed 2015-16 budget. It was unclear from his presentation whether the "executive principal" piece will continue, or simply the "director of student services" responsibilities: to successfully implement Common Core provisos. Hebert outlined a proposed $17.871,526 budget, 0.65 percent more than this year's budget. It would call for a 2.06 percent tax increase. (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)

It was unclear from his presentation whether the “executive principal” piece will continue, or simply the “director of student services” responsibilities: to successfully implement Common Core provisos. Jastremski was one of eight “opt out” proponents who met Monday with Hebert and school board Vice President Mary Leonard and came away with the impression that at least Strang would be leaving the district at the end of the school year. (Details in this week’s Freeman’s Journal, on newsstands today.)  Hebert also outlined a proposed $17.871,526 budget, 0.65 percent more than this year’s budget.
