COOPERSTOWN – The National Circus Project will be at Cooperstown Elementary School 8:20 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday next week, performing and teaching pupils circus skills.

The week culminates in a “Student Circus” performance, where students will demonstrate juggling, plate-spinning, balancing, “devil stick” and “diabolo” manipulation.

“Children’s fitness is a huge issue today. Kids need activities that are challenging, yet fun,” said Greg Milstein, National Circus Project executive director. “Circus skills are absolutely fun to learn. That’s a great motivator for kids to participate in a physical activity. And they can be practiced just as easily at home, beyond the school environment.”
