2 Woman Charged With Aiding Heroin Sales

ONEONTA – Two Oneonta area women are facing charges associated with assisting suspect Harry Wilkins Jr. of The Bronx in the sale of heroin in Otsego and Delaware counties, the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department announced today.

Tiffany L. Marshall, 22, of 42 Sunset Lane, and Stephanie L. Whitehead, 22, 287 Mount Vista Drive, both Town of Davenport addresses, were charged with conspiracy, fourth degree, a felony.   Whitehead was also charged with driving an unlicensed vehicle, a misdemeanor.  The two were arrested Wednesday.

When Wilkins was arrested after his car was stopped on Oct. 21 on River Street, Whitehead was driving and Marshall, who is on probation, was in the passenger seat, according to a press release.    Officers reported finding 770 glassine envelopes containing heroin with a street value of $15,400 in the car.

Investigators determined that Whitehead would drive Wilkins around in Marshall’s relative’s vehicle and that the two women would assist he with drug trafficking, the release said.

Marshall is being held in the Delaware County Jail on a felony probation violation awaiting transfer to state prison.  Both women were issued appearance tickets returnable next month in the Oneonta City Court.  If convicted, they face up to four years in state prison.

The Otsego and Delaware sheriffs’ departments and the Oneonta Police Department collaborated in the investigation.
