Pupils Cheer, Reflect At Cooperstown Elementary Ceremony

CCS elementary students Isabella Reich and Noah LaPointe, at left in top photo, pause for a moment of silence this morning as the annual third-grade track meet was renamed in honor of Kathleen Galland-Bennett, the teacher who came to exemplify courageous cancer-fighting in her five-year battle with the disease.  She passed away July 12, 2015.   Below right, phys-ed teacher Connie Herzig remembers her friend; at left in that photo is Kathleen’s husband, Ray Bennett; her mother, Ethel Galland-Stephan, is third from left.  In photo, lower right, is Anne Killian Russo, Kathleen’s running and biking pal.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
