Republican Primary

COOPERSTOWN – Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. has won the Republican primary, the County Republican Committee is reporting.

The tally was 1,700 for Devlin vs. 1,316 for retired state trooper Bob Fernandez, the GOP committee reported a minute ago.

However, Fernandez, who has the Democratic Party line in the general election, will face Devlin again Nov. 6.
