IN MEMORIAM

Steven Doyle, 58, Oneonta;

Hairdresser For Three Decades

Steven Doyle

ONEONTA – Steven Doyle, 58, a locally-renown hairdresser, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2019.

He was born February 24, 1961 in Brooklyn, the son of Edward John Doyle and Annette A. (Sudano) Rao.

Steven grew up in Lindenhurst, moving to Oneonta when he was 15 years old and never left. He cut hair for over 35 years, most notably at Measure for Measure, which was originally his father, Ed Doyle’s business.  He then changed the salon to Hot Hair by Steven, which he owned and operated from his home.

Steven was not only a great hairdresser; he was one of the greatest people you would have ever met.  He also loved Goodyear Lake, especially being there with his dog, Stella.  Steven was known as the unofficial “mayor” of Oneonta, and will be dearly missed by so many.

He is survived by his mother, Annette Rao; his sister, Tina Doyle and her husband, Chief; step-brothers and step-sisters, Lisa, Matt, Brandan, Jennifer, Ralphy and Tony; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Jimmy and Dylan; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Edward Doyle; step-mother, Elena Doyle; step-father, Tony Rao; and his step-brothers, Andrew and Michael.

Calling hours will be from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Diet St., Oneonta.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home.
