IN MEMORIAM: Andrea H. Jackson, 81;

Mother Of 9 Active In Local Baptist Church

ONEONTA – Andrea H. Jackson, 81, of Oneonta, a mother of nine who was active in Main Street Baptist Church, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at Bassett Hospital.

She was born Sept. 15, 1938, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Dominic and Margurite “Peg” (Rockefeller) Pizanello.

On May 6, 1965, Andrea married Lewis C. Jackson Sr. They were married for 49 years until Lewis predeceased her on Sept. 15, 2004.

A lifelong area resident, Andrea was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, Oneonta, where she was involved in various church groups and activities. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, crosswords and reading her Bible.

Andrea is survived by her nine children, Lewis “Butch” and Deb Jackson of Davie, Fla., Linda McDade and Keith Kukolech, Garrattsville, Connie and John Walsh, Virginia Beach, Va., Steven Jackson, Oneonta, Susan and Tony Sapienza, Chestertown, Christine Stoesser, Delhi, Cindy and Michael Ward, Oneonta, Jeffery Jackson, Oneonta, and Rachel Jackson, Oneonta; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Marco “Sonny” Pizanello.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta. Funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Phil Livermore, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
