IN MEMORIAM: Norma B. Ramsey, 97;

Worked 25 Years At Preferred Mutual

NEW BERLIN – Norma B. Ramsey, 97, of New Berlin, a quarter-century Preferred Mutual employee, passed away on Nov. 16, 2019 at Chase Nursing Home.

Norma was born on Sept. 18, 1922, in the Town of Burlington, the daughter of Ford & Carrie (Simmons) Bennett.  Her childhood was spent in the Burlington and Edmeston areas.  She was a 1939 graduate of Edmeston Central School.

Norma was employed by Preferred Mutual Insurance Co. of New Berlin for 25 years.  She enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.

On Jan. 20, 1946, she married Donald I. Ramsey, who predeceased her on March 22, 2002.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Richard Bloom of Galdwin, Mich.; and a son and daughter-in-law; Terry and Felicia Ramsey of Erieville, as well as three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three  step- great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother; Randall Bennett and sister; Thelma Weissflog.

A graveside service is planned for the spring of 2020 in the Burlington Flats Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, New Berlin.
