DELGADO:

I Will Vote

To Impeach

Congressman Delgado represents Otsego County

Congressman Antonio Delgado, D-19, will vote for President Trump’s impeachment, he announced at 12:32 p.m. today.

The freshman congressman, whose district includes Otsego County, released this statement saying he supports both Articles of Impeachment the House of Representatives plan to vote on this coming week:

“The President pressured a foreign government for personal political gain while withholding congressionally approved foreign aid, and in doing so, both abused his power and put our national security at risk.

“The President also obstructed Congress by blanketly refusing to cooperate with the body’s constitutional right to investigate the matter.

“‘There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must do it because conscience tells him it is right.’  These are the words of my hero, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Having reviewed the articles of impeachment and the underlying evidence, my conscience tells me that the right thing to do is abide by my oath of office and vote affirmatively for both articles.”

  1. In that case I am so glad I am not under your jurisdiction. This president is one of the best. I hope you do not try and run again because I will pray hard and convince friends who do not to vote for you and that you lose your seat.

  2. Time to remove this idiot from office. Neither article outline actual crimes. They are opinions, by Congress (specifically the Democrats alone) about how the Chief Executive used his Article II powers. Their opinion is irrelevant.

Hope you enjoyed your time. You are fired.

  3. I have a Congressman who instead of working for his constituents, votes lock step with his party no matter if it’s based on a hoax. Mr. Delgado obviously is void of any integrity as anyone that actually reads the facts, can see this impeachment is a partisan act. Mr. Delgado and his party have not accepted that the majority of his constituents voted for a person he doesn’t agree with and thus want to try to overturn an election.

  4. I am exceedingly disheartened by Delgado’s partisan disregard for this moderate, rural, common sense, majority Trump-supporting district. He is a radical urban elitist in pragmatist’s attire who has only contempt for us. I ask why he chose to attend the just held White House Ball. Shameful hypocrisy. Let us dispense with his nonsense and vote him out.

  5. This is a huge joke, you will be voted out. I pray nobody ever tries to railroad you just because they dont like the outcome of a vote.

  6. Hello:
I posted an important comment last evening.
Looking forward to seeing it posted!

  7. Thank You! I believe you came to the only rational conclusion possible. No one is above the law. Unfortunately, in today’s America we tend to think only in terms of winners and losers instead of right vs. wrong. Those who wield the most power are by default right. Should we yearn for the next spectacle of ‘blood-letting’, aligning ourselves with the perceived winner? Will it dull our pains and diminish our fears? Sadly, we seem to face each day more polarized, more paranoid, more isolated, and consequently more vulnerable than the day before. Without faith, trust and humility we will remain truly lost in a world of increasing chaos.
