IN MEMORIAM: Irving ‘Irv’ Stevens, 62;
Worked At Titan Homes, Golden Artist
EDMESTON – Irving “Irv” E. Stevens, 62, of Edmeston, who worked at Titans Homes for 30 years, then at Golden Artist Colors, passed away unexpectedly on Friday Jan. 1, 2021.
Irv was born in New Berlin on June 14, 1958, the son of the late Frank Elmo and Marion Alberta (Muller) Stevens.
A lifetime resident of Edmeston, Irv, or “Bufford” to many of his friends, graduated from Edmeston Central School. He was employed with Titan Homes in Sangerfield for over 30 years, and in 2009 began working in production with Golden Artist Colors Inc. where he remained until his passing.
A dedicated Dad, he regularly attended Alex and Amanda’s high school sporting events. He was a fan as well as a coach, and his voice could be heard above many others cheering the kids on.
Recently, Irv spent his time traveling between his children’s homes visiting and helping with home projects.
If it wasn’t snowing, Irv could be found riding his Harley through town cranking the tunes, as well as the many memorial rides he participated in. Over the years, Irv had been very involved in the dirt car and motocross racing world, where he touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his children Alex (Nina Capone) Stevens of Locke, Cayuga County, and Amanda (Kevin) Heagerty of Spencerport, Monroe County; grandchildren Lukas and Kenzi Heagerty of Spencerport, and many friends whom he loved like family.
Irv is also survived by his constant companion Marlie, who accompanied him through town on his daily walks.
Honoring Irv’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Instead, there will be a celebration of his life taking place at a time to be announced. For a man who loved his family, and friends, he would want a party thrown where good memories are shared.
Donations may be made to the Edmeston Emergency Squad in memory of Irv.
