DELGADO SAYS:

REMOVE TRUMP

Congressman Delgado

WASHINGTON – A few moments ago, Otsego County’s congressman, Antonio Delgado, D-19, called for President Trump’s removal from office.

He joined U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY, and some members of the state’s congressional delegation, who also called for the president’s removal.

Here’s Delgado’s complete statement:

“Yesterday, a core tenet of our democracy – the peaceful transition of power – came under siege. And in appalling fashion, the siege occurred in the People’s House.

“Just hours earlier, President Trump gave a speech to his supporters in front of the White House, where he not only spewed baseless claims of election fraud, but also proclaimed to those listening, ‘you’ll never take back our country with weakness, you have to show strength and you have to be strong.’”

“Even more brazenly, after the mob breached the doors of the Capitol, in a complete dereliction of his duty to protect the American people and defend our democracy, the President continued to spew lies about the election being stolen, called the insurrectionists ‘great patriots,’ and went so far as to say that ‘these are things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously and viciously stripped away.’”

“The President’s actions and words during a moment of great peril for our democracy make it plain that he is unfit for the Office of the President. I took an oath to protect our democracy against all enemies, foreign and domestic. And with a heavy heart, I’ve come to the conclusion that in order to protect our democracy, President Trump must be removed from office by his own cabinet or this Congress.”

  1. I hope our lawmakers follow through and remove him. He has proven beyond a doubt that he is a danger to our country

  2. Absolutely. Donald Trump should be removed from the White House at once. He incited a coup, riots, has several times betrayed the oath he took to protect & defend our Constitution. These are only a few of the many things he has done, and he should be prosecuted for them. Don’t wait 13 more days. Do it now.

  3. As always, Antonio Delgado chooses the right path for our security, freedom, justice and Human Rights!!!!
Thank you. I am so proud that I worked for both of his elections🌹💙💙💙

  4. Better proofread… Since when did Schumer change parties? You list him as “U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, R-NY,”….

  5. Another Democrat spewing biased opinion and propaganda to influence the populace into compliance and submission. Trump has done more good for our country than the last few presidents, and certainly more than the next could ever dream of especially since Biden he already been in politics for 47 years and has done NOTHING good or of merit; his work has been harmful to veterans and senior citizens. His claims are lies proven by his lack of follow through and evidence of success. Trump exposed the lies and stood up to the DC BS, and very accurately representing over 79 MILLION Americans. The only reasons the Democrats want to impeach Trump is because they fear him, because they all know that Trump isn’t afraid of them and has already begun to and would continue to expose their corruption and treasonous criminal activities. And the Dems know that if they don’t impeach Trump, he can run for public office again, and would likely win. Otherwise, they wouldn’t hate him so much and be so adamant about getting rid of him; they’d just sit by for the next 12 days just as General Powell suggested.

Delgado does not represent all people and should base decisions on facts, not opinions. Stick to the constitution, that is the governing rule in this country.

  6. Thank you for your leadership Congressman Delgado. I am proud to be represented by a person who takes his oath of office seriously. Start impeachment proceedings today. Donald J. Trump should never be allowed to run for office again, and the rebels he has incited must see that he pays a price for his lawlessness lest they be further encouraged in their own.

  7. Thank you, for your courage in speaking the truth: Trump is a damaged, broken vessel and a danger! It often takes more courage to walk in the light and speak truth. Thank you, Congressman Delgado, for shining a light in this darkness that threatens our country.

  8. I am sorry that this has happened to all of you. I am thankful you are all safe @ this time. Please be safe in the coming weeks & add me to the list to remove the others that “aided” the attempted Coup.
