Ella M. Burns

Ella M. Burns, age 89 of Oneonta, passed away August 19, 2021 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.

Ella was born November 21, 1931 in Herkimer New York, the daughter of Frederick Gilbert and Ida May (Farley) and adopted parents Earl V. and Mary B. Tuttle.

Ella was a sweet, kind soul who enjoyed bowling, square dancing, sewing, walking and most of all, spending time with her family.

Ella enjoyed a career later in life working at Sidney Federal Credit Union.  She was a longtime active member of the Southside Wesleyan Church.

Ella is predeceased by the love of her life husband, Edward G. Burns, son Steven E. Burns, great grandson Lucian Morse, very special niece, Irene Johnson, her parents, and several siblings.  She is survived by her sons, Randy E. Burns (Denise Brown), Edward G. Burns, Jr. (Joan Van Curen), Thomas J. Burns (Connie Gardner), daughter Julie A. Minerosa, 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.  A service to celebrate the life of Ella will be held on Wednesday August 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Southside Wesleyan Church, Route 23, Oneonta, NY.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made to the Wesleyan Church, 5300 NY 23, Oneonta, NY  13820.
