ONEONTA – Robert Carl Couse, 90, a brakeman on the D&H in Oneonta for 43 years, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.  

He was a resident at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home, Norwich, for the past year, and had previously lived in Oneonta.

Robert was born on November 3, 1925 in Portlandville, the son of Paul John and Pauline Adelia (Walling) Couse.

Robert is survived by his wife Darlene; his children and their spouses, John and Linda Couse, Bob and Joan Couse, Paula and Don Struble, Gary and Phyllis Couse, Wayne and Nita Couse, Chauncey and Laurie Couse, and Shane and Stephanie Couse; 19 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
