Opens New Children’s Room

The sound of excited young voices reverberated through Oneonta's Huntington Memorial Library last evening at an open house to celebrate the opening of the new children's room. Youngsters tried their hand as Spero, littleBits, Moss Robot and other learning toys. In top photo, Jennifer Sorensen chats with a busy, busy Charlotte Wiltsey, 2. At left, Tyler Sorensen tries out one of the new offerings as dad Aaron, in background, discusses the new facility with Karen Laing. At right, Library Director Tina Winstead discusses the new facility with Karyl Sage, left, and Rachel Ashara. Rachel, raised in Oneonta (and now living in North Andover, Mass., with her husband and two children) recalled her happy experiences at the library when she was growing up. Home visiting family, she brought son Devan to the open house. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
