Anne Meccariello Named

CCS Elementary Principal

COOPERSTOWN – At this hour, the Cooperstown Central school board is confirming Ann Meccariello as permanent elementary school principal.

She has served as interim principal since the retirement of Teresa Gorman in June 2015.

She was chosen after a year-long search involving the school board, teachers and members of the community.

Previously, Meccariello had taught eighth-grade English at Cooperstown for 17 years, as department chair since 2011.  Before joining CCS, she had taught English at Worcester Central for five years.

Ann has been a member of the district’s Inquiry Team since its inception, playing a key role in the development of the annual professional performance review plan (APPR).  Before becoming an administrator, she was active in the Cooperstown Teachers Association, serving as president since 2011.
