In Thursday’s weekly radio report on WAMC, Northeast Public Radio, Jim Kevlin, editor/publisher of www.AllOTSEGO.com (and Hometown Oneonta & the Freeman’s Journal), told of a coincidence that brings memories the late Bill Hughes, a World War II veteran from Oneonta, vividly to mind this Veterans Day: An unexpected latter from a family in Normandy and word that the Pentagon has just discovered Hughes qualified for a Bronze Star for valor, but never received it.
