Shine On, Supermoon 2016

Supermoon 2016, the largest moon of 21st century so far, shines down on the totem pole in front of The Fenimore Art Museum and, for that matter, all of Otsego County and the world this night. The moon will be closes to the earth at 6:22 a.m. Eastern Standard Time tomorrow morning (Nov. 14). Both the earth and the earth are in elliptical orbits; thus the distance between the two orbs varies. The last time the moon and earth were this close together was in 1948; the next time, in 2034.
