Sister Marie Denise Monser, 91;
Oneonta Native Taught Speech
ONEONTA – Sister Marie Denise Monser, CSJ, 91, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at home in Oneonta. She had been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for the past 64 years.
The former Esther Mary Monser, she was born on June 14, 1925, in Oneonta, daughter of the late Francis and Shelby (Nader) Monser, Lebanese immigrants. She graduated from Oneonta High School and Lowell Business School and worked for Ozalid Corp. in Binghamton.
On March 19, 1952, Sister Marie entered the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Troy, and professed final vows on Aug. 15, 1959.
