‘Lord Of The Wilderness’

Depicts Bawdy Founder

Playwright Ron Nash, left, trades pointers with James Iversen of Franklin, center, who played an uncouth William Cooper in a dramatization of the village’s founding in this evening’s reading of “Lord of the Wilderness” in The Fenimore Art Museum’s auditorium.  Nash, now living in California, said he wrote the play 10 years ago for the Leatherstocking Theater Group, which closed down before it could be performed. The play is one of four that will be read in the next several weeks under the auspices of The Fenimore Art Museum.
