MORRIS – The Morris sophomore who allegedly made threats yesterday afternoon to shoot students at the school has been taken to a crisis center, according to Trooper Nathan Riegal, public information officer for the state police.
The 16-year-old student was transported to a crisis center under the Mental Health Law 9.41, which states that “… Any police officer…may take into custody any person who appears to be mentally ill and is conducting himself or herself in a manner which is likely to result in serious harm to the person or others. ”
According to Morris Superintendent Matt Sheldon, parents were notified last night after the student allegedly made threats to bring a gun to school and injure classmates.
Riegal said that no arrests were made, and the case is considered closed.
