Basset Cancer Institute

Celebrates 300 Survivors

John Parks Sr. and Wanetta Daniels, both cancer survivors, were among the more than 300 individuals who came together from throughout central New York for a Cancer Survivor’s Day Celebration put on by the Bassett Cancer Institute June 4 at The Otesaga in Cooperstown. The annual event  was a sellout again as cancer survivors and their guests joined in the celebration of survivorship with the cancer treatment team and other staff who help patients navigate the emotional and physical challenges a cancer diagnosis entails. The Bassett Cancer Institute offers a nationally accredited, multidisciplinary team approach to cancer care. Since nearly all forms of cancer call for more than one type of therapy, Bassett’s medical, radiation and surgical oncologists work together as an even larger team focused on the needs of individual patients.
