IN MEMORIAM: Virginia Madero, 94;

Moved To Morris, Where Son Resides

Virginia Madero

MORRIS – Virginia (Davila) Madero, 94, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 7, 2018.

She was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, to Ruperto and Josephina Davila on Sept. 28, 1923. She was raised by her granparents in Puerto Rico until moving to the United States at age 12. She married the love of her life, Angel J. Madero on April 11, 1942, and celebrated 70 years together until his passing in 2012.

They began their married life in New York City and moved to San Francisco Bay area of California before returning to Roxbury in 1980 and Morris in 2003.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She is survived by sons Daniel (Gloria) of California, Joseph, and Mark (Sharon) of Morris; her grandchildren, Patricia, Samuel, Gary, Joshua, Lauren, Heather, Matthew and Nicole. She was also blessed by 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Edward, brother Frank and sister Providence.

Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m., this evening, Thursday May 10, at the Johnston Funeral Home, Morris. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., May 11, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in West Oneonta. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Oneonta.
