Theodore E. Hargrove Jr.,

77; Owner of TJ’s Place

Theodore Hargrove

COOPERSTOWN –  Theodore E. Hargrove Jr., 77, the owner of TJ’s Place restaurant, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, in Sebastian, Fla  with his dear friend, Leonela by his side.

Born April 23, 1941, in White Plains, Ted was a longtime resident of Cooperstown. Ted moved to Sebastian, Florida, in September 2014, where he remained until he passed away.

Ted could often be found at TJ’s Place at “table No. 1” with his friends, family and loyal customers.

When not working, Ted enjoyed spending time with his beloved racing pigeons and traveling.

Ted is survived by his siblings, Dorothy (Hargrove) Garceau, Bruce Hargrove, Kevin Hargrove and Brian Hargrove; his children, William Hargrove (JoMarie), Karen Miller-Henry and Diane Hargrove-Adams; many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his parents, Theodore E. Hargrove Sr. and Dorothy (Schall) Hargrove; his son, David Hargrove; his longtime partner, Diane Howard; and his brothers, George Hargrove, Stephen Hargrove, Kenneth Hargrove and John Hargrove.

In honor of Ted’s wishes, there will be a private family graveside service.

In lieu flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cooperstown Food Bank.
