IN MEMORIAM: Edward Fahey, 58;

Richfield Army Veteran Loved Cars

Edward R. Fahey

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Edward R. Fahey, 58, an Army veteran and auto enthusiast, passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018.  He resided on Route 20.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1960, in Ilion, a son of Robert and the late Ann Rathmussen Fahey. He was raised and educated in Richfield, graduating from Richfield Springs High School.

After graduation, he enlisted in the Army proud, for 10 years.

Upon his return home from the Army he worked locally for Anderson’s Hardware in Richfield Springs, Bennett Motors in Fly Creek and later for himself as an auto mechanic.

Ed enjoyed cars he was a member of Car Cruse, going to car shows throughout the area. His favorite car was his 1955 Oldsmobile.

Surviving is his father Robert and his wife Joan; a son Joshua Fahey of South Point, Ohio; six daughters, Heather Pierce of Kentucky, Shawna Brown of West Virginia, Holley Cupp of Indiana, Daphne Fahey of Richfield Springs, Michelle Fahey of Chicago and Chloe of Clarksville; two sisters and their husbands, Debra Plows and Edward of Cherry Valley, Sheila Oldick and James of Richfield Springs; many grandchildren, nieces nephews and cousins.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter Amanda.

Calling hours will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, in the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home 40 West James St.,  Richfield Springs. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Mark Ioset of the Church Christ Uniting officiating. Interment will take place this spring in Litchfield Cemetery.
