IN MEMORIAM: Robert G. Weaver, 66;

Lifelong Farmer; School Board Member

EAST SPRINGFIELD – Robert G. Weaver, 66, a lifelong farmer who operated Gray Gables farm here for many years, passed away on Jan. 1, 2019.

He was the son of Herbert and Barbara (Gray) Weaver.

A farmer and outdoorsman, Bob operated Gray Gables as a dairy for many years and lately growing vegetables and pumpkins for his roadside stand on Route 20.

He was a school board member for 31 years.  For the past 15 years Bob has worked at the Otsego County Soil & Water Conservation District assisting landowners (and enjoying a cup of coffee) throughout Otsego County.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Gray) Weaver; his wife of 34 years Renee; his son Marcus (Trina) Weaver and their children.  He is also survived by his sister Karen (Gary) Farney, a brother Dick (Dee) Weaver, along with many nieces and nephews.

Bob is predeceased by his father Herbert and his favorite mother-in-law Zaida Welden.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, NY.  Funeral services will be a5 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at the East Springfield Presbyterian Church.
