IN MEMORIAM: Suzanne M. Gregory, 79;

Returned Home After Government Career

MOUNT VISION – Suzanne M. Gregory, 79, who was active in civic life locally after retiring from a career in the U.S. government, passed away Jan. 6, 2019, at Albany Medical Center.

She was born July 1, 1939 in Cooperstown, the daughter of a Leo Francis and Marjorie Ruth (Pitts) Wikoff.  Suzanne married Michael Quinn Gregory on July 21, 1957 in Hartwick.

She worked for the government at Vint Hill Farms Station, an Army and National Security Agency intelligence facility in Warrenton, Va., in the administration office.

She was a graduate of Laurens Central School, Class of 1957.  She was an active volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, The Daughters of the American Revolution, and was on the Induction Committee for the Laurens Hall of Fame.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Q. Gregory of Mount Vision; her daughter, Lorrie Little of Virginia; son, Michael T. and Lori K. Gregory of Texas; granddaughters, Krista Little, Devon and Bob Mathers, of Virginia, Amy, Kelly and Rachel Gregory of Texas; two great-grandsons, Jack D. and Evan Q.; siblings, Robert and Helen Wikoff of Oneonta, David Wikoff and Jean Kosier of Davenport, Ronald Wikoff of Oneonta, Joan and Stewart Handy of Florida, William Dean and Teresa Wikoff of Washington; sister-in-law, Rose Wikoff of Mount Vision and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Gerald Wikoff.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m.-noon with the service at Noon, Thursday, Jan. 10, at Lewis Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Donna Martin officiating.

Interment will be at the Mount Vision Cemetery at a later date.

Donations may be sent in loving memory of Suzanne to the Laurens Central School Scholarship Fund, PO Box 301, Laurens, NY 13796.
