Deadlines Extended for Artisan Show

The Cooperstown Art Association has announced that the deadlines for artisans to register for its annual outdoor art event on Labor Day Weekend, Fine Arts on the Lawn, have been extended until Friday, August 25. Two Exhibits To Open at CAA

The Cooperstown Art Association will hold an opening reception for two new exhibitions on Friday, August 18 from 5-7 p.m. “Made in New York: The Art of Wood” is the 28th biennial Fine Craft Invitational show devoted entirely to woodworking, including both functional and nonfunctional creations made with local and exotic woods. Artist Helen Quinn To Speak at Art Garage

Internationally active artist Helen Quinn will present a free artist’s talk on Thursday, August 10 at 6 p.m. at the Art Garage, 689 Beaver Meadow Road, just outside of Cooperstown. Man in the Seats: ‘The Tempest’

Wednesday, July 12 saw the opening of the month-long presentation of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” at Fenimore Art Museum, which will be presented every Wednesday and Thursday until August 10. The play is being performed by the Glimmer Globe Theatre players under the direction of Michael Henrici who, with wife Danielle, has organized and presented many Shakespearean plays in the past, including last year’s “Romeo and Juliet.”…

Stagecoach Run Art Festival Gets Back on Track First Weekend of July

After a three-year hiatus, the Stagecoach Run Art Festival got underway once more over the weekend of July 1-2. The event is so-named because the majority of exhibits are located along a route once known as the Catskill Turnpike, which ran from Catskill in Greene County westward to Unadilla and on to places north. Passages: Creatures & Curiosities,” the high summer show of the Art Garage season, will kick off on Thursday, July 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with a reception to celebrate the art of Petey Brown, Ava Fedorov, and Helen Quinn.
