Blade Found Inside Bag Of Trick-Or-Treat Candy Parents are being warned to carefully check left-over trick-or-treat candy after state police in Delaware County received a report this week that an X-Acto knife blade had been found inside a full-size (1.8 ounce) bag of Sour Skittles. The report came from Maple Lane, Margaretville. It appears that the bag of candy, bought at the Margaretville CVS, had been completely sealed prior to it being opened on Nov. 9, police said.  The investigation…

Ommegang Wins 2 Gold Medals In Prestigious European Contest COOPERSTOWN – Brewery Ommegang has received two gold medals at the prestigious European Beer Star Competition, the brewery announced today. Abbey Ale won gold for Belgian-style dubbel and Gnomegang won gold for Belgian-style tripel. The results of the judging of 1,957 beers from 45 countries was announced Wednesday in Nuremberg, Germany.   Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded in 55 categories.…

BULLETIN Osterhoudt Squeaks In ONEONTA – With the final ballot opened at 9:30 a.m. today, Democrat Michelle Osterhoudt has won the Ward 4 Common Council seat by one vote, 93-92, over independent Jeff Back. Osterhoudt is a school teacher by profession and a member of the Oneonta Community Relations & Human Rights Commission.  She and husband Marty have two children.
