IN MEMORIAM:  Catherine Ann Westfall, 85

ONEONTA – Catherine Ann Westfall, 85, of Oneonta, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Fox Nursing Home.

She was born on July 17, 1931, in Weehawken, N.J., a daughter of the late John and Della (Gardella) Biggio.


Catherine and her family moved to Oneonta when she was just a young child. She attended St. Mary’s School, graduating in 1949. Later in life she was a regular attendee for services at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Westfall; her daughter, Susan Berlin; two grandchildren,Jonathan Silverman and Mellisa Silverman; and her great grandson, RJ Silverman.

A graveside committal service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Emmons, where Catherine will be laid to rest beside her mother and her Aunt Emma Irish.

Arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta.
