Cooperstown’s DiPerna, Environmentalists
Scheduled For Audience With Pope Francis
COOPERSTOWN – Paula DiPerna, global environmental policy strategist and former Congressional candidate from Otsego County, is attending a special Vatican conference of environmental leaders in Rome.
An audience has been scheduled between conference attendees and Pope Francis to discuss environmental issues, especially climate change, reforestation and plastic pollution in the oceans.
The Conference intends to build upon the Pope’s 2015 Encyclical “Laudato Si – Care for our Common Home,” and to add new momentum to implementation of the Paris Agreement signed that year, to which all nations of the world except the United States are now committed.
