Family-Fun Activities Shifted

Cooptoberfest Out,

Chamber Shifting

Focus To Art Fest

In cancelling Cooptoberfest, the Cooperstown Chamber is shifting the “family-friendly activities” to the Labor Day Artisans Festiva. Here Bella Jones, Riley Jubar and Chris Vuolo enjoy a bounce-slide from last year’s Cooptoberfest.

COOPERSTOWN – The Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce has cancelled Cooptoberfest, and is shifting its focus on developing Labor Day Weekend’s Artisan Festival, chamber Executive Director Tara Burke said today.

“It was a difficult decision to part ways with Cooptoberfest, and certainly not one we took lightly,” said Burke. “We  spent time analyzing it from every angle, as well as talking to our event partners. It’s not financially viable for us to continue to pursue it.”

However, the “family-friendly activities” will be folded into the Artisan Festival, which is planned 10 a.m.-5 p.m. from Saturday, Aug. 31, to Sunday, Sept. 1.
