Herzig, appointed to the office in October and elected on Tuesday, has said economic development, particularly in the D&H railyards, will be a central focus of his administration. The county appeared to embrace the “single point of contact” and “shovel-ready sites” strategy that came out of two “Seward Summits” organized in 2012 and 2013 by state Sen. Jim Seward, R-Milford, but failed to follow through.   Four sessions for the public are planned a 7 this evening at Richfield Springs, Unatego and Edmeston central schools, and at the SUNY Oneonta’s IRC building.   Separate sessions were held today at the county’s Meadows Complex for highway superintendents and mayors and town supervisors.  (AllOTSEGO.com photo)
