COOPERSTOWN – Otsego County has begun working with local municipalities to develop a Countywide Strategic Prioritization Plan, seeking to identify priorities for economic investment, sustainability, community revitalization and government efficiency.

The plan will enhance grant applications, and be a stimulus for greater collaboration within the county, said county Rep. Kathy Clark, R-Otego, chair of the county Board of Representatives, in announcing today that the program is moving ahead.

The project team is gathering specific documents from each municipality and will facilitate interviews and roundtable discussions with elected officials, department heads and other local stakeholders to best understand the needs and priorities of every community.

Clark credited county Reps. Rick Hulse, R-Fly Creek, Craig Gelbsman, R-Oneonta, and Kay Stuligross, D-Oneonta, with spearheading “inter-municipal collaboration.  I look forward to working with all of our leaders over the next few months and into the future”.

Otsego County has retained a team of municipal consultants led by Laberge Group from Albany, NY to facilitate the process If you have any questions, please contact Clark at (607) 547-4202 or mcgovernc@otsegocounty.com.
