IN MEMORIAM: Cynthia M. Grant, 54;

Loved Crocheting For Her Grandchildren

NEW BERLIN – Cynthia “Cindy” M. Grant, 54, of New Berlin, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at Albany Medical Center on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018.

Cindy was born on Dec. 30, 1963 in Oneonta, to Steve & Grace Simmons.

Cindy was a lifelong resident of the Edmeston and New Berlin areas, graduating from Edmeston Central School in 1983.  She later attended the Utica School of Commerce completing her paralegal studies.

Cindy married the love of her life, Larry “Scott” Grant on July 6, 2002.  She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.  She also loved to craft.  Whether it be crocheting blankets for the grandkids, making quilts for family members, or mending clothes for the loved ones, she was very crafty.

She is survived by her husband Scott, of New Berlin, and her parents Steve & Grace Simmons of Burlington Flats.  She also leaves behind her loving siblings, Michael (Pam) Simmons of Burlington Flats and their boys Justin, Adam, and Christopher, Deborah Clark of New Berlin, and her son Travis, Kathy Mumbulo of Burlington Flats, and her daughter Ashley, and Steve (Christina) Simmons of Texas, and their children David, Nicholas, Matthew, Elizabeth, and Benjamin.  Also surviving Cindy are her children and her most precious grandchildren, Dennis (Brittany) Grosfent of Brookfield, and their children, Aaliyah, Jace, and Nathan, and Sharalynn Grosfent of New Berlin, and her children Camryn, Connor, and Nolan Edgett.

Also close to her heart were her “in-laws” Charles Grant of Florida, and his sons Chucky and Michael, Robert (Linda) Grant of New Berlin, and their children Chrissy and Frankie, Donald (Tammy) Grant of Pittsfield, and their boys Thomas, Jake, and Andrew, and Martin (Amy) Grant of Pittsfield, and their children Alicia, Colin, and Brynn.

She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to share their sincere gratitude to the exceptional staff at Bassett Medical Center, Fifth Floor Special Care Unit, especially Cassandra, Sara, and Kaylee.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Delker and Terry Funeral Home, 30 South Street Edmeston, NY.  A celebration of Cindy’s life with Mark Piedmont officiating, will take place immediately following calling hours at the funeral home.  Interment will be take place at the New Berlin Cemetery immediately following the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Bassett in Cindy’s memory.
