Sheet Metal Worker Leaves Family Locally

Donald R. Connor Jr.

SCHENEVUS – Donald R. Connor Jr., 56, of Garnerville, Rockland County, passed away Oct. 31, 2019, with his loving wife and brother-in-law, Frank by his side.  His mother and sisters survive him in Schenevus.

He was born July 16, 1963, in Whitestone, Queens, where he also grew up, the son of Donald and Lorraine Connor.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Donald worked for the Sheet Metal Union Local 28 in New York City for 35 years.

He was known by many to be larger than life with a hilarious sense of humor and contagious laugh. He loved traveling to Hawaii with his wife (her native state) and daughter. He would sit on the cliffs of Hawaii while listening to Pink Floyd. He had a great group of friends and family who loved him dearly.

Donald is survived by his wife of 25 years, Puanani; a beautiful daughter, Kaitlyn; mother; three sisters, Jean Connor of Boca Raton, Fla., and two in Schenevus, Patricia Carimando and Lorraine (Tony) Pepaj; brother, James Connor (Craig) of Stroudsburg, Pa.; mother-in-law Catherine Phillips of Honolulu, Hawaii, and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Phillips (Janice) of Honolulu, and Frank Phillips (Nancy) of Worcester, Mass. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, close family friends and his cat, Sparkles.
He was predeceased by his father, Donald R. Connor Sr.; father-in-law Kenneth Phillips, and both grandparents.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 201 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A private luncheon for family and close friends will follow.
