IN MEMORIAM:  Eileen M. Morton, 83;

With Husband, Ran Cherry Valley Farm

CHERRY VALLEY – Eileen Marie Morton, 83, passed away Nov. 5, 2015 at Focus Rehabilitation & Nursing, in Cooperstown where she was a resident since February.

She was born on Aug. 22, 1932, in Sharon Springs, the only child of Millard and Eleanor(Herman) Burnside.

She was a graduate of the Cherry Valley Central School and married her high school sweetheart, Richard Arnold Morton, on Oct. 15, 1950. at the Presbyterian Church in Cherry Valley.

A loving marriage of 50 years followed until his passing on April 17, 2001.  The couple operated a dairy farm on East Hill for 20 years.

Mrs. Morton is survived by a son, Gary (Ruth) Morton of Springfield Center, a daughter, Teena (Edward) Harvey of Cherry Valley, three grandsons Lisa (Jeremy) Harvey, Christopher Morton and Travis (Robin) Morton.  She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, parents and in-laws, she was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Darlene Morton, who died in infancy in 1954, and a grandson, Matthew Ryan Morton.

At her request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.  A private graveside service will be held in the Middlefield cemetery at the convenience of the family, with Lyman Johnson officiating.
