Energized Democrats

Fill All Committee Slots

Democrats at this hour are packing a county committee meeting (top photo) in Cooperstown's Village Hall, where, energized by President-elect Donald Trump's victory, nominees stepped forward to fill all committee vacancies, setting the stage for vigorous county board campaigns in next fall's elections. "I know you're disappointed in Trump," said County Chair Richard Abbate. "I know you are disappointed in Congress. But we can change that." He went on to say that capturing the county board in 2017 would set the stage to mount a strong 19th District congressional campaign in 2018.
