Letter from Chris Franck

‘Franck for Three More Years’

I’m Chris Franck, and I’m running for re-election to a second term on the Cooperstown Central School Board of Education. I’m writing to share a summary of what I’ve worked on over the past three years and what I’ll stay focused on if voters return me to the board.

  1. I serve on the Facilities and Finance Committee with Dr. William Streck. We advise the board and school leaders on annual budgets, the 2025 Capital Plan, and monitor the financial performance of the school. 2026-2027 promises to be a challenging year for many schools, including Cooperstown.
  2. As a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, I work with school leaders to target areas and deploy resources to improve how we serve our students. We are deep in the process of finalizing a new Strategic Plan for the school district.
  3. I represent our board on the ONC BOCES Regionalization Steering Committee along with superintendents and board representatives from all 19 ONC BOCES school districts. Together we are exploring opportunities for schools to collaborate, share resources and enhance our students’ educational experience.
  4. This past summer, I facilitated meetings between school leaders and educators from the Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum, Fenimore Farm, and Bassett Healthcare to introduce new academic and cultural enrichment programs for our students.
  5. Finally, I brought together CCS and Bassett leaders to discuss how the school district can support Bassett’s critical recruiting and retention efforts. Strong schools help attract families to the Cooperstown area, so we’re working with Bassett to communicate more clearly what CCS offers students and families.

Cooperstown is already one of the highest performing school districts in New York State. As a proud CCS graduate, I’m committed to making our school district even better while operating under tight fiscal constraints. I hope I can count on your support at the polls on May 19 and promise to work as hard for our school district in the next three years as I have in the last three years.
