George Howard Yager, 69

Veteran, Outdoors Enthusiast,
Worked at ONC Boces

George H. Yager

George Howard Yager was born September 30, 1951 in Fulton the son of the late Rev. George Howard and Edna (Topliffe) Yager.

George served his country in the United States Army as a Military Policeman.

George was 1969 graduate of Alexander Central School and a 1981 Genesee Community College graduate with and associates degree in model making.

After moving to Goodyear Lake from Byron, George began working at ONC BOCES as a teacher’s aide.

George enjoyed model making, photography, riding an ATV, watching NASCAR, boating and jet skiing on the lake and hosting his annual 4th of July gatherings.

He was a member of the Veterans Association, the Goodyear Lake Association and ONC BOCES.

George is survived by his two sons, David and Mariana Yager and Michael and Laura Yager of Ft. Worth, TX; five grandchildren, Lucas, Julia, Sophia, Micaela and Emilia Yager; the mother of his children, Judy Yager of Byron; and one sister, Alice and Raymond Barone of Penn Yan.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta from 11 am to 1 pm. A private celebration of life service with Rev. Stephen D. Fournier officiating.
