National Baseball Hall of Fame board chairman Jane Forbes Clark, flanked by Hall of Famers Cal Ripken Jr. and Phil Niekro, cut the birthday cake marking today’s 75th anniversary of the Hall’s first Induction in 1939. James S. Bridger, a native of Cooperstown known by many as Foxy or Jim, passed away late Saturday morning, January 24, 2026, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a lengthy illness.
