HERZIG ANNOUNCES

FOR SECOND TERM

ONEONTA – Mayor Gary Herzig announced just moments ago that he intends to run for a second term as Mayor of the City of Oneonta.

“During the past year and a half, I have felt honored and privileged to work with you – our Council, staff and volunteers that make up our City Boards and commissions,” he said in a statement. “During this time, much has been accomplished.”

He cited the development of Oneonta D&H yard and the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), as well as upgrades to water and street infrastructure and partnerships with the colleges and local businesses.

“Continued progress requires teamwork,” he wrote. “I want you to know that I will ask the citizens of the City of Oneonta to re-elect me as mayor so that I can continue to work with you.”

Last month, Don Scanlon, owner of the Hometown Deli, announced his intention to run as an Independent and seek endorsement from the Republican Party.
