Jensen, Victory
win section titles
for Cooperstown track

Sophomores Claire Jensen and Braeden Victory won Section III Class C1 titles for Cooperstown Wednesday, June 9, in South Lewis.

The Cooperstown track teams ended their seasons Wednesday, with a fourth-place finish for the girls and a ninth-place finish for the boys.

Jensen won the 200, with a time of 26.68, and Victory won the high jump, with a jump of 4-10.

Jensen also placed second in the 400, with a school record breaking time of 58.97. The previous record, 60.45, was set by Marissa Kaplan in 2005.

Her sister, eighth grader Annelise Jensen, took fourth in the 800 and 1,500.

The 400-relay team, featuring the Jensens, Ireland Gable and Ava Lesko took 12 seconds off of their best time, finishing in 4:25.60, good for a second place.

The 100-relay team of Ava Lesko, Gable, Sam Vezza and Olivia Murdock placed fourth.

Vezza also took second in pole vault and fourth in the long jump.

Riley Jubar and Riley Green took fourth and fifth in Shot Put. The 800 team of Cate Bohler, Ariadne Hodgson, Lauren Martin and Juliet Cunnington finished ninth, but took two minutes off their best time, finishing in 12:40.18.

For the boys, Oliver Wasson took fourth in the 400. Finn Holohan took fifth in the triple jump and pole vault. Simon Hursyz took sixth in the 100 and Mikael Foutch-Carkees took sixth in the discus.
