IN MEMORIAM: Lillian A. Timer, 99;

Former Teacher Lived In Mount Vision

Lillian Timer

MOUNT VISION – Lillian Timer, 99, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Chestnut Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Oneonta.

Lillian was born on Nov. 30, 1919, in Middlefield, the daughter of Earl and Pearl (Chase) Alpaugh.  She was a graduate of Cherry Valley Central School and of Oneonta State College, Class of 1940.

On May 09, 1943, she married Edward Timer in Cherry Valley.  They lived in Laurens and moved to Mount Vision in 1950.

She taught elementary school in southern Florida and Mount Vision.  She was a teacher’s aide and librarian at Laurens Central School.

Lillian was a member of the Eastern Stars and Mount Vision United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Earl and Clyde, sisters Edith Morse and Marian Collins, and her loving husband Edward, son Robert, and grandson Jason Timer.

Lillian is survived by her daughter Marian and husband Robert Jeffery; son Raymond Timer; grandchildren Adam, Alexander, and Katherine Timer; great-grandchild Gray; and daughter-in-law Martha-Jean Gilchrist Timer.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law Wanda Timer Karlen and Bertha Timer George, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was like a second mother to several of her nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley,  followed at 11 a.m. by funeral services.  Burial will be in Mount Vision Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian’s memory may be made to the Mount Vision Fire Department or Mt. Vision United Methodist Church.
