First 100 Days ‘a Hack Job’

President Donald Trump’s first 100 days have not made America great again! His appointment of Elon Musk to head DOGE has led to significant cuts to the very federal agencies that make America safe, healthy and better positioned to thrive.

A chainsaw approach has left a hack job where those fully educated to do the job are gone and their replacements totally ineffective. The American people and those we help around the world can no longer access the help they need.

By Executive Order, President Trump has weakened environmental laws aimed at keeping your drinking water safe, your air clean and the Earth healthy.

He has started a tariff war with the world and our biggest trading partners, jeopardizing those businesses that export their products to those countries, and raising prices for us as those countries retaliate. He has rocked the stock market, causing increasing instability.

He is trying to rewrite history with his executive order, “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.” He has threatened federal grants to schools and universities that teach Black history and want a diversified faculty and student population.

His immigration policy is using ICE and HSI to arrest not only non-citizens but also U.S. citizens with no due process.

He has flaunted or slow walked court orders to reverse actions when courts and judges have ascertained he does not have the authority, under the constitution, to carry out what he has proposed, particularly where his actions are in direct conflict with what Congress has already enacted by law.

Trump’s first 100 days have been among the most damaging in U.S. history. Far from resurrecting some imagined version of past American greatness, they have unleashed destructive forces that have weakened what makes this country great.
