Modest Rise in COVID-19 Cases in Otsego County

Otsego County health officials report on a modest rise in COVID‑19 cases this month, with the current count estimated at about 20. According to Assistant Public Health Director Kimberly Schlosser, this increase is small and does not indicate any significant change in local transmission patterns.

Schlosser stated, “No new COVID‑19 guidance has been issued.” For now, the county continues to follow existing recommendations.

Residents are encouraged to maintain basic precautions—staying home when ill, practicing regular handwashing and seeking testing if symptoms appear. County staff note that minor fluctuations in case numbers are expected, particularly as seasonal respiratory illnesses circulate and testing habits shift. Officials have not identified any clusters or outbreaks associated with the recent uptick.

The Department of Health continues to monitor trends closely and will update the public if conditions change or new guidance becomes necessary.
