Plans Seminar In Otsego County

WORCESTER – The New York State Association of Fire Chiefs (NYSAFC) will present “Tactical Tasks and Tips in Truck Work” in Otsego County – at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Worcester Fire Department.

The association’s 2019 Seminar Series program is led by instructor Lieutenant Michael Ciampo of the Fire Department City of New York (FDNY).

In this three-hour program, students will be shown numerous street proven tactics and tips that will increase their overall skill level, improve their safety, help enhance tactical performance, and save time and energy while operating at emergencies and fires. Subjects such as ladders, overhaul, ventilation, forcible entry, rescue, search, utility control, apparatus set-up, positioning, and operation, and hand and power tool usage strategies will be reviewed.

Instructor Mike Ciampo is currently a lieutenant with the FDNY. Previously, he served with the District of Columbia Fire Department and the Wyckoff (N.J.) Volunteer Fire Department. He is a nationally renowned fire service author, lecturer, and hands-on training instructor.

The program attendance fee is $25.00 per person for NYSAFC members and $40.00 for non-members. On-site and pre-registration are available. Visit www.nysfirechiefs.com for additional information.
